This distinctive olive-green coloured narrow prismatic gem Elbaite tourmaline crystal is unfortunately not characteristic enough to pin it to anywhere more precise than Minas Gerais state in Brazil. An older piece, it comes, bizarrely, from the generations-old Weyand Collection in Tsumeb, Namibia. Dramatically skewering a cluster of crystallized Quartz, the 6.2 cm long Elbaite crystal is terminated with a flat pinacoid face with just a slight chip out of one edge. Transparent, and uniformly coloured along its entire length, this crystal makes a eye-catching display. Its lowermost end is a smooth fractured surface. There are no reported repairs to this spectacular arrangement.
