This small cabinet-sized display specimen from the Água Branca pegmatite at Barra do Salinas District, Coronel Murta, Minas Gerais state, Brazil is a superb combination piece, nicely presenting three of the classic species all together in an extremely presentable piece. A 7.8 cm tall, single, stocky, frosted creamy white terminated Quartz crystal provides the host, or matrix, through which a 3.6 cm long colourful teal-blue, to minty green terminated Elbaite tourmaline prism penetrates. A dusting of pale violet coloured micaceous Lepidolite crystals form small clusters around the base of the Quartz crystal, providing a lovely shift in colour. The back of the Quartz crystal is incomplete, but the top of its termination and the top of the Elbaite crystal are both immaculate and presents extremely well from the front display direction. Internally, the Elbaite crystal is translucent and has a pinkish core which shows through the outer greenish edges. A very fine display pegmatite specimen from this modern day classic location.
