An asymmetric pair of terminated pink Elbaite Tourmaline crystals stand vertically on a small clear acrylic base to make a most attractive small miniature from a recently discovered gem Tourmaline pocket found in the mining district of Coronel Murta in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The two prisms are attached is sub-parallel alignment along mutual prism faces with the large crystal standing 3.7 cm tall while the smaller is 2.1 cm. The bigger crystal has a core of rosy-magenta surrounded by paler and more gemmy rose grading to a 5 mm thick, almost colourless band-tinted delicate pink beneath the 2 mm deep cerise-pink termination. The small crystal is similar, but its pinkish colourless zone spans 8 mm. . This specimen has undergone one repair following a breakage during tectonic disturbance while in-situ, a common tendency with Tourmaline pockets. The repair has been done by experts in crystal repair, rendering the break almost invisible. On the back, where the two prisms join, is a 5 x 5 mm cluster of translucent milky-white Quartz crystals. A superb pair of Elbaite crystals from Coronel Murta, Brazil.
