A classic bi- to almost tri-colour gemmy individual prismatic Elbaite tourmaline crystal from the famous Paprok pegmatites in Kamdesh District, Nuristan Province, Afghanistan, showing why this region is so important to gem tourmaline production. Reaching 5.7 cm tall and terminated with a superb modified (12-sided) pyramidal point, this wonderful crystal presents the classic Paprok colours, from pale strawberry-pink at its base, passing upwards through an 'acid' lime-green and into a darker bottle-green tip. Translucent throughout, this crystal is much enhanced with good directional lighting. The termination has some slight chipping, but is still extremely fine and it has no repairs. A really great, colourful Afghan tourmaline.
