A lovely miniature of the silver antimonide Dyscrasite from the St. Andreasberg district in Lower Saxony, Germany. Characteristic thick-set acicular crystals form crossed parallel arrays covering a 2.5 x 1.5 cm area on a milky Calcite matrix. The Dyscrasite crystals measure to about 1.5 cm long, lying flat against the matrix. Those in direct contact with the matrix tend to be untarnished pink-tinted silver and those sitting proud have a semi-lustrous black patina. A fine example of the rare species Dyscrasite.
