A most attractive small miniature from a most attractive small mine! A comment not frequently made! Bright brassy Chalcopyrite crystals are richly scattered over a matrix of crisply developed snow white Dolomite crystals with a most attractive pearlescent lustre. From the Dreislar mine at Winterberg in Germany, this was worked for Baryte in an attempt to find copper, lead and zinc. The mine buildings are half timbered and could be mistaken more for a small sixteenth century country house than a mine.
