An aesthetic group of five scalenohedral Calcite crystals to 5.5 cm tall, the outer shells of which have been pseudomorphed to Dolomite, in the form of typical saddle-shaped crystals. This rare and unusual pseudomorph is from Niederschlema in the Schlema-Hartenstein District of Saxony. It is made all the more attractive by an overgrowth of lustrous black metallic Hematite then dusted by a second generation of lustrous micro-crystals of Dolomite, partly stained brick-red with Hematite. A classic pseudomorph from Saxony.
