Djurleite is a copper sulphide, forming thick tabular crystals with deeply striated prism faces, similar to chalcocite. This large thumbnail from the Dzhezkazgan Mining District in the Karaganda Region of Kazakhstan is a rich and well crystallised example. The Djurleite forms an intergrown array of blackish-blue crystals to over 1 cm tall, with atypical dark steel-blue iridescence. In one small area, micro-crystals of Quartz form a granular cluster. A rich and fine example of Djurleite from Kazakhstan.
