Green on white is the ultimate combination for Tsumeb Dioptase specimens, and what elevates them above any other world occurrence of this rare and beautiful copper silicate species. At Tsumeb, the white can be Calcite or Dolomite, but in this instance it is the former and as well-formed rhombic crystals. The Dioptase too, is on point, in supremely glossy, gemmy emerald-green crystals, the largest of which reaches a noteworthy 1.1 cm in length, with several others of a similar proportion. The very best Tsumeb Dioptase shines much brighter than those from other occurrences, and that can clearly be seen here. At 9.6 cm in length, this is certainly a great size for display, and has all of the top attributes one would expect for a top-class Tsumeb Dioptase. This beauty comes from the generations-old Weyand Collection which was held in Tsumeb up until very recently.
