A superb specimen of intergrown, highly lustrous Cuprite crystals with Native Silver from the find several years ago (2010) at the Poteryaevskoe mine at Rudnyi Altai, Altaiskii Krai in the Western-Siberian Region of Russia. Excellent crystals of Cuprite, measuring to a most impressive 1 cm, display an octahedral habit with dodecahedral modifications. The Cuprite contains areas of bright metallic Native Silver interspersed between the Cuprite crystals. This really is a wonderful specimen for both the species and the mine.
