A stunning and very rich specimen of Cuprite from the Tsumeb mine with crystals and platy crystalline areas lining the shallow open vugs and crevices of a granular Dolomitic matrix. The Cuprite forms a roughly 5 x 1.5 cm solid area of rich, deep Burgundy-red intergrown crystals with a brilliant metallic-silver lustre. Complex and simple forms of octahedral Cuprite cover many other areas of the display face. Minor pale lemon Mimetite crystals occur rarely. An excellent and eye-catching Cuprite from Tsumeb.
