A lustrous, glittering bed of maroon red Cuprite crystals emitting flashes of red entirely covers a dense massive Cuprite matrix from the Tsumeb mine in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia. The Cuprite forms as cuboctahedral and dodecahedral crystals measuring up to 3 mm, all with faintly striated faces. In certain areas the Cuprite is overgrown by bluish-green tinged creamy white Dolomite crystals with a pearly lustre, with some containing inclusions of green Malachite. A lovely small cabinet specimen displaying a fine and contrasting combination of species from Tsumeb.
