It is interesting to note that of the 185 valid minerals listed in mindat from the Santa Eulalia District, in Chihuahua, Mexico, only Creedite is flagged with a star, indicating its noteworthy high quality from this locality. It is primarily a Carbonate Replacement Deposit on a grand scale. The Creedite, a calcium aluminium sulphate fluoro-hydroxide, forms radial sprays of near-colourless, well terminated crystals, tinged just slightly mauve, but only slightly! Individual crystals are developed up to 1 cm, as measured from their base against the matrix around the specimen's edges. The Creedite covers a display area exceeding 6 x 3 cm over a matrix of mixed massive Chalcopyrite and Sphalerite.
