Rare metallic black platy cleavages of Crednerite measuring to around 1 cm are largely associated with crystalline green Malachite and lustrous white to colourless cleavages of Hydrocerussite. Crednerite is an oxide of copper and manganese and the white rims around the Hydrocerussite are an alteration to Cerussite. The various species are in a matrix of mixed manganese and iron oxides. A fine small cabinet specimen from Torr Works quarry at Cranmore, close to Shepton Mallet in Somerset.
