Although not gem quality, this Corundum, var. Ruby crystal is certainly specimen quality. Sitting perfectly for display, this large miniature specimen from the Kola Peninsula presents a fine doubly-terminated hexagonal prism of pinkish-red Corundum sat on top of matrix consisting of white Albite with inclusions of Eudialyte and Mica. The Corundum crystal is 2.7 cm in length and also contains inclusions of Eudialyte. Its position, allows it to be seen on six of its eight sides, making it very presentable. A really rather nice displayable Corundum, var. Ruby crystal, and on matrix.
