An unusually large display specimen of the rare lead-bearing manganese oxide mineral, Coronadite, from the MMM mine at Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. 10 cm long, matt black coated Coronadite stalactites are aligned parallel, rising perpendicular from a bed of the same manganese oxides. The edges of the base expose the internal radiating form of the grey metallic Coronadite contrasting with the smooth black stalactite coatings. A fine large , and pure (usually the Coronadite is coated with Smithsonite) specimen of this rare mineral from the famous Milton Lavers Broken Hill collection. Specimens of Coronadite specifically from the MMM mine are rare and so too is anything of this scale, so an impressive piece from Broken Hill.
