Connellite, a real favourite amongst collectors of Cornish minerals, forms a rich small miniature of abundant crystals lining the cavities of a copper-rich Quartz veinstone matrix. Dark royal blue, acicular Connellite crystals contrast nicely against lighter Chrysocolla which envelops the cavities. Adjacent to these are sinuous stringers of deep maroon, massive Cuprite. This lovely example is from Wheal Gorland in the parish of Gwennap, Cornwall, that most famous of historic Cornish mines for its magnificent and exotic mineral specimens.
