Siskin to light apple-green Conichalcite forms granular coatings and crusts both on, and included in, Calcite from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia. In places, the Calcite forms stepped, sharp, rhombohedral surfaces with a brilliant glassy lustre with mossy inclusions of Conichalcite. The specimen comes with an XRD-EDS study card (I think from the Royal Ontario Museum) which concludes 'base of sprays Conichalcite, but tips contain vanadium, hence 'Calciovolborthite''. Calciovolborthite is now named Tangeite. A most attractive specimen containing crystal tips of this rare mineral.
