Tsumeb is known for its gigantic range of rare and common minerals, but one of the most popular is Smithsonite. They can portray a wide range of colours, depending on the impurities. This is an excellent example of how trace amounts of Cobalt can turn this carbonate into a joyous baby pink miniature. The two main crystals are a rich pink colour with some white hues and some lovely smooth crystal faces. They both have a slightly pitted surface where there has been a natural interference in its growth and all together perched on a lovely grey sulphide matrix.
