At small cabinet size this superb Smithsonite shows the classic curved lenticular to bladed form seen in Tsumeb mine Smithsonite when it begins to transition to a paler pink colour, to what is often termed Cobaltoan Smithsonite. Although its colour doesn't reach the intensity of the famous bubble-gum pink Tsumeb Smithsonite it has the benefit of lovely 'lines' of grey inclusions, adding significantly to its character. Free from any noticeable damage this flat plate it is almost totally covered in excellent crystals lining a slightly concave cavity. The largest crystal reaches 1.2 cm on edge, but all are prominent and present really well with their subtle waxy lustre and fine translucency.
