Tunaberg and Håkansboda in Sweden are the two iconic historic localities for crystallized Cobaltite. Both known since the 18th century, they have both produced wonderful 3-dimensional crystals of an otherwise rarely well-crystallized species. This bright, silvery metallic, individual, off-matrix, pseudocubic Cobaltite crystal from Tunaberg is a huge 22 mm along each edge, but even more remarkable is it's perfection in form, with only very minor edge wear. Tiny pink spots on the surface are likely to be Erythrite, aka Cobalt Bloom. This is a staggering crystal for the species - worthy of the very best museum.
