This is an exceptional Clinoclase from arguably the most important locality for the species - Wheal Gorland, at St Day in Cornwall, England. Miniature in size, a porous, lightweight, iron-rich gossan matrix contains veinlets and a cavity lined with extremely glossy deep electric-blue Clinoclase crystals. These crystals are wonderfully defined, in sheaf-like bunches of parallel crystals, and reach 5 mm across, in a cavity 3 x 1.3 cm in extent. It comes with a previous collection label (no. 1431) recording that it was acquired from Richard Barstow in 1977, and Barstow's green stock label is extant too.
