A splendid small cabinet specimen richly invested with the rare iron-manganese-aluminium phosphate Childrenite, from Middle Adit in the George and Charlotte mine at Tavistock Hamlets, Devon, England. Chocolate to light clove brown Childrenite micro-crystals line a 2.5 x 1.5 cm cavity and cover many surfaces of the brecciated and chloritised slaty matrix. The matrix also has small areas of crystallised Pyrite and is pervaded with patches of golden brassy massive Chalcopyrite. The specimen is accompanied with the label of a well-known British collector.
