A solid crystallised intergrown group of Chalcopyrite crystals from the Redruth Mining District in south-west Cornwall, England. The specimen appears very old and is heavily tarnished, with a mainly black to steel-blue-grey patina and, where visible, bright metallic golden Chalcopyrite. The tetragonal crystal faces are heavily striated with occasional peacock-blue and pinkish-red iridescence. Individual crystals are hard to distinguish and the specimen may well be one large complex crystal.
