This Chalcophyllite from Wheal Gorland might be a small miniature, but it has really rich crystals. Its colour, a greener shade of turquoise, and opaque appearance, is quite distinctive and very typical of specimens from Wheal Gorland and surrounding mines within the wider Poldice mine sett which incorporated Wheal Gorland later in the 19th century. The crystals show some bruising with age, but many display the typical platy hexagonal form and reach up to 5 mm across. A lovely Cornish rarity from the 19th century.
