Crenver and Wheal Abraham Chalcocite is much rarer than some of the better-known Cornish occurrences in the Camborne-Redruth area and out west near Land's End. This fine small cabinet specimen has some pedigree to it. It originally belonged to George Croker Fox (1784-1850) and was obtained later by Sir Arthur Russell. The specimen was originally much larger and was split into three - this one being accompanied by a photocopy of Russell's original label and a photograph of the three parts. It was held by Nick Carruth in his personal collection. The specimen itself is richly encrusted with small stacked hexagonal crystals displaying a fine bluish-grey historic patina.
