From a relatively new discovery in the far south of Peru, at Rumipata in Ichuña District, General Sánchez Cerro Province comes this really unusual heavenly blue Quartz var. Chalcedony, pseudomorphing finger-like crystals of Anhydrite. This fine large miniature specimen is entirely Chalcedony, and displays several intergrown 'fingers', the largest reaching 4 cm in length and extending upwards at 45 degrees. All trace of Anhydrite is gone, apart from the colour which it has imparted on the Chalcedony. A fascinating pseudomorph.
