Touissit in the Touissit-Bou Beker District, Morocco was once a prolific producer of world-class Cerussite crystals but no more. Those days are gone, and so we have to wait until older collections get recycled to rediscover these wonders of the mineralogical world. This cabinet-sized specimen is a superb, rarer, matrix-hosted specimen. Dense Galena-bearing matrix is partially covered with smoky-brown to cream coloured glassy twinned Cerussite crystals and smaller pinkish-orange rhombs of Dolomite. A perfect 'snow-flake' cyclic twin of Cerussite, 1.4 cm across, is perhaps the most noteworthy crystal, but others up to 1.6 cm across take different twinned forms. An impressive display of Cerussite from Morocco.
