Isn't the natural world wonderful? And especially so at Tsumeb mine in Namibia. The way this 4.3 cm wide 'star'-shaped twinned Cerussite crystal has grown upright on a bed of Calcite-coated Quartz is simply delightful. Not only that but the Cerussite crystals are intensely smoky-brown coloured and extremely glassy, adding significantly to its overall character. There is minor abrasion to the Cerussite crystals in places, but overall they are in top condition and the detail of the growth-lines and twinning planes on the surface of the Cerussite are really lovely. The plate of small elongated 'needle'-style Quartz crystals which makes up the base of the specimen is coated with a thin layer of cream coloured Calcite and minor spots of green Malachite.
