The Příbram District in Central Bohemian Region, Czech Republic is a famous historic European mining area dating back millennia. Silver is what was sought first, followed by lead and zinc, and then finally uranium. Wonderful old specimens are seen in many central and eastern European museum collections, but rarely are fine specimens seen available for sale or in private collections. This lead-based large miniature specimen feature many individual glossy cream coloured platy Cerussite crystals sat upon compact foliated Galena. The Cerussite crystals reach 9 mm in length. A thin film of an unidentified white mineral coats the surface of the Galena too. This is most likely another secondary lead species, but is unlikely to be Cerussite.
