Sitarjevec mine in Slovenia is an ancient one, reportedly dating back to Roman times, but in its more recent history it closed during the 1960s. Mineralogically, it is a classic site for Cerussite, particularly the 'Jack Straw' variety, but specimens are rarely seen other than in older museum collections. This miniature specimen is a pure aggregate of this type of Cerussite, forming attractive silky white intergrown straw-like crystals.
