This is a remarkable, rarely seen, old-time, extremely well-crystallized Cassiterite from Sungei Lah/Sungei Chenderiang, Batang Padang District, Perak, Malaysia. Weighing in at just over 1 kg, this is not just your average tin ore, this is a wonderful aggregate of nicely formed crystals, and the largest reach 3 cm across. With a distinctive cappuccino colour, the Cassiterite crystals are cloudy rather than gemmy, but present a really nice resinous lustre. This is not only an uncommon locality, but is an exceptional specimen too, making it museum quality. Ex Martin Kershaw Collection (no. 614) who began collecting during the early 1960s (he had it labelled as from Sibulen mine, Chenderiang).
