This beautifully aesthetic cluster of superb Cassiterite crystals will make a real show-stopper for many good collections. The ex-matrix, intergrown large Cassiterite crystals measure up to 3 cm across, with one main twinned crystal taking centre stage. Most crystal faces are mirror-smooth, but some display striations normal to their twinning axis. The Cassiterite is mainly coal-black and opaque, but near-surface features show internal planes of translucent burnt orange. Hidden beneath the base are Quartz grains of medium to coarse grain size (Wentworth scale) cemented by a yellowish fine grained mineral, probably Muscovite. A choice Cassiterite from Horn' Slavkov.
