Two joined, equant Calcite crystals, each coated with micro-crystalline Pyrite and overgrown by a second generation of Calcite, which forms shell-like layers on top. This attractive miniature is from the historic mining district around P?'bram in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. This specimen stands out because of the subtle iridescent patina of the Pyrite, ranging between yellow, bronze and reddish-gold with a micro-speckled texture. The Calcite crystals measure to just over 3 and 4 cm across at their widest points. These are partly coated with translucent grey Calcite as rhombohedral crystals and equant caps, epitaxial to the original Calcite crystals.
