Classic, and highly distinctive wafer thin interlocking blades of 'schieferspath' Calcite from Geevor mine in Cornwall. This type of Calcite was found during the 1970s and 1980s working of Geevor but due to its fragile form, finding good specimens free from damage is rare. This small cabinet specimen is in great overall condition and the interlocking Calcite crystals stand out really well against the small areas of orange coated Quartz matrix. Ex Malcolm Southwood Collection, no. MS 2014.021. It also has a number X835 attached to it.
