This unusual crystal-form of Calcite from the famous Tsumeb mine is almost floral in its habit, with many thin, bladed rhombic crystals interlocking in rosette-like patterns. Cabinet in size and dome-like in form, the pale creamish crystals display a slightly pealescent lustre and make a really attractive display. Under magnification the Calcite crystals are seen to be slightly more complex, with their surfaces made up of many tiny rhombic crystals a bit like teeth on the blades of a saw. These crystals are all in great, damage-free condition. Ex Hettrich Collection.
