It is staggering how many different shapes and forms of Calcite one mine can produce, but the Dalen-Kjørholt mine at Kjørholt, Brevik, Telemark, Norway has produced an impressive array. This miniature specimen from the Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) collection presents the habit often called 'Fishbone' Calcite. Delicate and intricate, the criss-crossing, twinned, elongated, sharp, cream coloured bladed crystals make for a very pretty display.
