I guess the one constant with Calcite is the unpredictable nature in which it can crystalise. Little wonder Victor (Mordechai) Goldschmidt's Atlas der Krystallformen required an entire volume dedicated to Calcite. I hardly know where to begin describing this beautifully complex miniature from the P?'bram Mining District in the Czech Republic. Essentially, several long and narrow scalenohedral crystals with pale apricot tips morph into a succession of stacked prismatic plates of milky white. The resultant specimen is that of a complex skeletal and branching array of stacked plates and spikes. It's easier to study the photos! A delightful miniature Calcite from P?'bram with the previous collector's card label.
