This is a very sweet large miniature to small cabinet-sized classic West Cumbrian Calcite from the famous Pallaflat mine at Bigrigg. This is a classic old-time specimen, showing the typical powdery orange limonitic core over which water clear modified scalenohedral Calcite crystals form a crust. A few of the Calcite crystals have slightly rubbed terminations, but it still looks very classy and is a really nice size to fit in the palm of your hand. Ex Malcolm Southwood collection, no. MS 1997.036 and ex David Hacker collection, no. 86.12.
