Two groups of staggeringly lustrous yellowish-lime-green Brazilianite crystals fan outwards from either end of this small cabinet-sized specimen. These Brazilianite crystals, along with a few other smaller ones sit upon lustrous platy white Albite crystals which are themselves intergrown with platy crystals of Muscovite mica (to about 2.5 cm across). The Brazilianite crystals, which all appear to be pristine and perfectly formed, measure up to 2.8 x 1.8 x 1 cm and display crazed interiors which produce multiple internal reflections. Combined with their extremely bright surface lustre I have to say that this is one of the most spectacular Brazilianites I have ever seen, not for size, but sheer quality. This stunningly beautiful Brazilianite comes from the Type Locality at Linópolis in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Ex Professor Werner Paar Collection.
