The Viboras mine at Machacamarca in Bolivia is particularly famous for its Bournonite. This fine miniature features a single Bournonite crystal, 1.7 cm long by 1 cm thick, sat in the centre of a Quartz matrix encrusted all round with micro-crystals of Quartz. There is also a rich coverage of sooty black micro-tetrahedral Freibergite crystals with tiny Pyrite crystals sparsely scattered all over. The Bournonite crystal forms an excellent cogwheel habit of steel-grey with a bright metallic lustre.
