This might not be a famous blue Baryte from the West Cumbrian Iron Mining District, but I find it rather charming the way the crystal is perched on crystallized Dolomite matrix. The Baryte is distinctive: a beige coloured thick tabular crystal, 4.4 cm in length, reminiscent of those from both Mowbray mine and Dalmellington mine in the Frizington area. It is missing its base, but its upper section and termination are really nice, and absolutely classic West Cumbrian. Ex Mike Brooke collection. A super miniature West Cumbrian Baryte.
