This fine small cabinet Baryte is from the famous Pöhla-Tellerhäuser mine in the Schwarzenberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany. Unlike the typical Pöhla Baryte, these crystals form tabular, platy crystals with bevelled edges, rather than bladed, or wedge-shaped forms. They still present a rich amber-brown colour, good transparency and fine glossy lustre, and make a lovely display of interlocking but upright terminated crystals with only minimal scuffing along the crystal edges. The largest crystal reaches nearly 4 cm on edge. Ex Hans Engelbrecht Collection, no. 4210, acquired by him in 1990.
