Pretty, parallel cockscomb blades of flesh pink Baryte almost entirely mask a thin Quartz plate from the P?'bram Mining District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. Occasional blades do sit at almost 90 degrees to the majority, one of these being the largest at 3 cm across. Allowing for these differences in blade orientation, the specimen can take on a rose like appearance, further enhanced by its rose-like colour. Where exposed at one side, the surface of the Quartz plate is micro-crystallised and dotted with micro-crystals of Pyrite.
