A small cabinet specimen of great form and complexity from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia. A granular matrix of mixed Limonite, Malachite and occasional Azurite is richly coated with numerous gemmy azure-blue Azurite crystals, many partly pseudomorphing to Malachite. Where this is occurring, the Malachite appears as either velvety patches or flattened silky fans of radiating acicular crystals. A 6 x 6 mm patch of distorted Wulfenite crystals sit towards the front left adjacent to botryoidal turquoise coatings of Rosasite. Granular and microcrystalline Smithsonite and Bayldonite occur throughout the specimen. A busy, interesting and attractive specimen from Tsumeb.
