This fine, large cabinet specimen displays excellent clusters of blue Azurite and green Malachite crystals set on a light brown limonitic gossan matrix from the San Valentin mine in Sancti Spiritu, La Unión, Murcia, Spain. Lustrous, well formed bladed crystals measuring to 0.8 cm of rich royal blue Azurite are clustered in two main areas on the specimen. The Azurite also occurs as single crystals scattered in association with the clusters. Acicular crystals of peppermint green Malachite have formed radial groups and single crystals, adjacent to and amongst the Azurite. Spanish Azurite is not that commonly available on the mineral market, making this a particularly fine example.
