This very glossy Azurite specimen is very different to most we see from Tsumeb mine, but its intimate association with Bayldonite matrix removes any element of doubt to its provenance. Although the individual Azurite crystals are small, their really rich colour and clustered aggregated form across a cabinet-sized piece makes for a wonderfully visual display. The Bayldonite matrix is fine-grained and a paler lime-green than is often seen with Bayldonite and has small specks of darker green Malachite sparsely scattered across its surface. There are areas of damage to the Azurite, but from where the Azurite was attached to the other side of its cavity, but overall this is a prominent, sizable display specimen of colourful Azurite from this most famous of mineralogical sites.
