A charming miniature of well crystallised Azurite scattered amongst slightly turquoise, peppermint-green Malachite from the Block 14 opencut at Broken Hill Proprietary mine in New South Wales, Australia. The Azurite forms deep inky azure-blue crystals to 1.5 cm long, some double terminated and, when back-lit, become a stunning translucent electric-blue. The Malachite forms an almost bubbly botryoidal coating, in some areas forming hollow spheres to 3 mm across. Cerussite also occurs on the specimen as milky-white, thin platy crystals showing radial reticulation and a degree of natural etching. All species are distributed over a highly vuggy, dark grey gossan matrix.
