The great visual variety in Azurites from Tsumeb is remarkable and this one is no exception. While it is not the peak of aesthetics, it has a lot going for itself. The bright royal blue colour is emphasised by the small spots of pseudomorphed Malachite, which in itself have a lovely radial structure. Overall the lustre is quite good and has a more greasy look and there is no perceived depth into the crystal, which aids the richness of the blue colour. The main body of the specimen is built out of well-oriented and parqueted Azurite growing out of, what appears to be, a larger single crystal. As an apotheosis, it has several, albeit small, protruding crystals on the back and front to give this specimen just that extra bit of depth.
