A spectacular Azurite from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia, best described as an intergrown mass of crystallised Azurite rosette-spheres, typically averaging about 1 cm in diameter. The spheres divide into two classes; one as matt, deep powder-blue rosettes and the other as glassy, highly lustrous rosettes of deep Royal-azure blue. Here and there occasional single bladed Azurite crystals emerge within the open void spaces between the spherical clusters. On close inspection, a little contact damage is seen here and there, but this is only to be expected with such a highly crystallised morphology. A wonderful display specimen of superb Azurite which can be displayed to equally good effect from either from the predominantly matt or lustrous sides.
